Part 2: Polymer Plate Printing IN PERSON
Letterpress printing bookmarks from polymer plates
Details
Polymer plates PART DEUX! In this workshop we will be setting up everyone's polymer plates (which will be prepared by me ahead of time) on a boxcar base to be printed on the Vandercook Press. We will then print an edition of bookmarks together and cut them down to size. We will cover inking, printing, registration and cleaning up on the Vandercook so this is a great class if you think you'd like to use our space or a similar press in the future. It is also a great class for anyone who is interested in hiring letterpress printers for their design work or art practice so you get a better understanding of the process of printing from polymer plates. The cost of the workshop includes the cost of materials including paper and polymer plates. You will go home with your very own set of 20 bookmarks and your plate to keep reusing as you see fit! You must have attended our online PART 1 Workshop to attend this class, or at the very least watch the recording - please send me an email with your sign-up if you're not able to attend the online class and I'll make sure I send the recording to you :) You will have to prepare your own file and send it to me by May 15th at 5pm so we can have your plate ready for printing on the date of THIS workshop. We will not be covering design and file prep in this (Part 2) of the workshop - just actually printing!
