In this three-hour course we will focus on the fundamentals of design for linoleum block prints, carving a small stamp block (2"x3") on soft-cut lino, and a larger design for printing on the printing press (4"x 6") to make an edition of identical prints. We will discuss the different materials and tools used in relief printmaking in general, and how to get the best results for printing at home after the class. All materials are supplied, but you're welcome to bring extra papers to experiment with printing on. Please bring an idea for your carving with you in the form of a sketch or photo. We need a minimum of 3 people to run this course. In the event we do not meet this minimum you'll be contacted and given a full refund. In the event you cannot make the course, please contact us as soon as possible and we will issue you a refund and make your seat available. If it is within 48 hours of the course's first date, unfortunately your fee will be non-refundable.
